Students are placed in groups and work together on skits that they will present in Spanish at the end of chapter 3. They will be memorizing the dialogues for presentations. Students take the quiz over numbers, 0-30, and we correct it in class. They were able to review their tests for chapter 2, as well. Tuesday, Sept 29:

Students begin working in chapter 3 (including Palabras 1) and download the materials for the chapter to Notability (ch. 3 vocabulary list & textbook chapter). They receive their correct essays for them to type & turn in through Haiku. Tarea: pages 19 & 20 in the workbook

Students take the test over ch. 2 in class. They will also be turning in any homework from this chapter that has not already been submitted to Haiku. Tarea: Study

Friday, Sept. 25:

Students will write in-class essays (rough drafts in Spanish) for ch. 2, (at least 6 sentences, 4 or more words per sentence). They will receive the corrected rough draft on Tuesday, and they will type it (just like chapter 1). We also play a review game, telling time bingo. Tarea: Study for ch. 2 test on Monday!

Tuesday, Sept. 17:

Students begin working in chapter 2 today. We review the vocabulary & grammar from the chapter and took notes on the chapter. Students receive the handout for Pan de Muerto extra credit. (This is the only extra credit project for the year.) They can translate the recipe, make the bread, and bring it on Monday, Nov. 2, when we talk about the Day of the Dead in order to earn 25 points of extra credit. Tarea: pages 11-12 in the workbook.

Monday, Sept. 14: Students review the ch. 1 tests in class, and we also begin chapter 2. They should download the ch. 2 textbook & vocabulary list. Tarea: study! Wednesday: Quiz, numbers 0-20

Tuesday, August 25, 2015:

Students will use their ipads to access online textbooks & other materials for Spanish I class. They must bring their materials to class each day, and they must also be able to access my webpage. Students should plan to study at least 20 minutes each evening for Spanish class, whether they have homework or not. They can study grammar & vocabulary, and they can also use my quizlet account for more practice. This webpage will be updated each day.

Summer Vacation Homwork: Students should plan to complete the following assignment if they are entering Spanish 2 next year. The handout must be completed & turned in on the first day of school!
