your daily routine, page 397, #4.  The essay should

be 12 sentences long, with at least 7 words per 

sentence.   You will write about the topic and then 

type the essay, using Spanish characters, and also

illustrate it.  This will be worth 50 points.  You will 

work on it today and Wednesday.

Hangouts schedule.  Students will be turning in their

Workbook and Ch. Asssessments for each chapter.  If 

they do not turn them in, they will be given zero points. 

This will be the case for chapters 9-12, till the end of the 

semester.  When reviewing homework and classwork, the

 Answer Key for the workbook and grammar worksheets

 can be found on the PowerSchool page.   Students will

begin working in chapter 11, including pages 336-341

in the textbook.

IT'S GOOGLE HANGOUTS DAY!!  

If you have any questions, you can use the invitation and 

link to check in with Mrs. Delello.   Students will begin working 

on the project for ch. 10.  They should have already downloaded

the rubric and be ready to begin working.  You will be researching 

about a famous person or event and make a 1 minutes presentation

about it.  This will be worth 35 points.  You will also have Monday

through Thursday to work on it when we return from Spring Break.  

EXTRA CREDIT QUESTION:  Write the answer in Spanish.

On page 327 in the textbook they talk about musical instruments

that are popular in different Latin American countries.  Thre is a 

paragraph which talks about a popular instrument in Guatemala, 

and there is a picture of a man playing the instrument.   What is

the instrument.  Tell me in a sentence in Spanish, if you would like

to receive the extra credit points.

Students also receive the Rubric for the Ch. 10 project , which 

is due Apr. 17.  They will be researching about a famous person or 

event.  They will then be making a electronic presentation about 

that person or event in Spanish. The presentation should be 1 min. 

long and students will work on the project after Spring Break.

Extra Credit Assignment:  For 10 points of extra credit, answer the 

question with information from chapter 10:   

What was the name of the play they mentioned in Palabras 2?  It was

written by Garcia Lorca, a famous writer who was killed by Franco

during the Spanish Civil War.  

One sentence in Spanish will be sufficient.

requested time.   I will be posting Zoom videos on Mondays.   

The Zoom video will be helpful for understanding what we are 

working on.   They will also be prerecorded, so you can watch 

them whenever you wish.   Fridays will be live using Google 

Hangouts, so you can get questions answered.

For Spanish 1 students:  This is the final day of chapter 9.  Students will be

turning in their homework for points in the gradebook.  They will

hour of El Cid.  Remember "El Cid" is the national hero of Spain, 

and a true story, and an epic poem in Spanish.

Friday, March 20:

Students complete the reading in chapter 9, pages 294-297, the 

culture articles.  They also finish working on the essays from the 

previous day.  Students should also review the homework in the 

workbook Answer Key.  Tarea: workbook homework is pages 113-114.  

This is the final day to send the Extra Credit Message for 10 points.



Thursday, March 19:

Students use the prompt on page 299 of chapter 9 to write a essay/postcard

about a vacation they took to a Argentina or Mexico.  The essay should  be

9 sentences of at least 7 words per sentence.   This should be in the past

tense & students should use the grammar and vocabulary from the chapter.

This will be turned in by the end of the chapter, March 25.  Another assignment

for today and tomorrow, is to send an message to me in Spanish, due March 20.   

Turn it in under the Powerschool activity called, "Extra Credit Message."  Everyone 

who sends me the message in the correct format will receive 10 points of extra credit.  

If Powerschool is not working be sure to send me the message in an email.


Wednesday, March 18:

Students continue reviewing chapter 9, pages 285-289.   They 

should also review the homework in the workbook, using the 

Answer Key on the Powerschool Page.  Please remember, we

will not be taking quizzes.   We will be turning in homework for

points at the end of each chapter.  We will take the chapter tests 

when we return from the break.   For extra practice, don't forget 

you can you Quizlet and also Duolingo.   Tarea:  The homework 

for tonight is pages 113 & 114.  

March 25: End of chapter 9 & turn in homework

Students continue reading and reviewing in the chapter 9 of

the textbook, pages 280-284.   They should also review their

homework in the workbook.   Quizzes will not be taken, and 

test will be given when we return to school.   Homework is due

in the workbook.   Be sure to complete your homework in 

order to earn points for the gradebook.  Also, for extra practice 

in Spanish, Duolingo may be used.

homework in the workbook from last Friday.  Answer key can be

doing online learning.   Tests will be taken when we return to

& other materials for Spanish 1 class.   They 

must bring their materials to class each 

day, and they must also be able to access my 

webpage.   Students should plan to study at 

least 20 minutes each evening for Spanish class, 

whether they have homework or not.   They can 

study grammar & vocabulary, and they can also 

use my QUIZLET account for more practice.   

PowerLearning will be updated each day, and the
