Monday & Tuesday, June 13 & 14:

Students continued to work on their essays and group projects. Presentations are tomorrow, Wednesday.



Thursday & Friday, June 9 & 10:

Students worked on their final projects, doing research and writing essays in class. The rough drafts will be returned on Monday.

Wednesday, June 8:

Students watched "El Abuelo," part 3, and we also corrected the tests from the previous day. Also, the students were assessed on their key questions. Tomorrow we will complete the key questions and begin the final project.



Tuesday, June 7:

Students took the chapter 12 test, and they turned in their chapter 12 workbooks for points.


Monday, June 6:

Students had a subsitute teacher & they worked on the final exam study guides in class.



Friday, June 3:

Students received their final exam study guides for second semester, which they need to bring to class next Monday. They also worked on a grammar worksheet in class. Then we played a review game in the last 10 minutes of class. Tarea: key questions & study for test (which is next Tuesday). There was another short schedule today due to the Assembly.

Thursday, June 2:

Students took a grammar quiz & we corrected it in class. Test next Tuesday. There was a shortened schedule because of the "Every 15 Minutes" program. Tarea: page 388.




Wednesday, June 1:

Students watched Part 2 of "El Abuelo," and they also worked on their Ch. 12 Repaso. Tarea: Assessment.

Thursday, May 26:

Students took the quiz, and we corrected it in class. We also corrected the workbook pages. Tarea: 157-158.



Wednesday, May 25:

Students watched part 1 of "El Abuelo," and we also worked on a grammar worksheet in class. Tarea: pages 155-156.

Tuesday, May 24:

Students finished the passport presentations, and we took the quiz over Palabras 1, which we corrected in class. We also read the Lecturas Culturales (pages 368- 371 in the text), we corrected the workbook pages. Tarea: pages 153-154.

Monday, May 23:

Students did their passport presentations in front of the class & we continued to work in chapter 12. We also read the culture articles for chapter 12. Tarea: pages 151-152 in the workbook.




Friday, May 20:

Students gave their Passport Presentations today. We also took notes on chapter 12 and discussed Palabras 1. Tarea: pages 149-150.

Wednesday & Thursday, May 18 & 19:

Students watched the rest of "El Cid." Friday will be the presentations for their passports.



Monday & Tuesday, May 16 & 17:

Students were taking STAR testing and attending a half schedule of classes each day. We watched 25 minutes of "El Cid," and discussed Palabras 1 in chapter 12. Tarea: memorize passport presentations for Friday.



Friday, May 13:

Students corrected the tests from the previous day, and they were also assessed on the key questions for the chapter. Next week, we will be having STAR testing.



Thursday, May 12:

Students took the chapter 11 test & they turned in their notebooks and workbooks. Tarea: Assessment. Tomorrow: key questions.




Wednesday, May 11:

Students watched Episode 24 of Destinos, the final episode for Spanish I. They also were given the key questions for chapter 11, and they completed the listening manual in class. Tarea: pages 147-148 in the workbook.

Students took the grammar quiz & we corrected it in class. They also received the corrected essays from the day before for the passports.

Monday, May 9:

Students worked on their essays for their passports/presentations in class. They will be presenting their passport essays on Friday, 5/20. Tarea: pages 143-144.





Friday, May 6:

Students took the quiz over Palabras 2, and we corrected it in class. We also began working on the Passport projects for chapter 11. We will be writing the essays for the passports on Monday. Tarea: pages 141-142.




Thursday, May 5:

Students did the bellwork on page 339, #4, and we corrected the workbook homework. We also continued to work in the listening manual, and read the culture articles, pages 352-357. Finally, the students worked on the Ch. 11 Repaso, which is the study guide for chapter 11. Tarea : pages 139-140.

Wednesday, May 4:
Students took the quiz over Palabras 1, and we corrected it in class. We also finished the worksheet, checked the homework, and continued to work in the listening manual. Tarea: pages 137-138.



Tuesday, May 3:

Students watched Destinos, Ep. 23, and we corrected the workbook in class. We also completed the presentations for dialogues and the grammar worksheet from the previous week. Tomorrow: Quiz, Palabras 1. Tarea: pages 135-136.



Monday, May 2:

Students corrrected the tests from chapter 10, and we also reviewed the Palabras 2 from chapter 11. We continued to present dialogues from chapter 11. Tarea: pages 133-134.

Friday, April 29:

Students began presenting dialogues today, and we continued to work on the grammar worksheet from the previous day. We also corrected the homework in the workbook from last night. Tarea: pages 131-132 in the workbook.



Thursday, April 28:

We began chapter 11, including taking notes on grammar and reviewing Palabras 1. We also worked on a grammar worksheet about the present progressive tense. Tarea: pages 129-130.

Wednesday, April 27:

Students took the Chapter 10 test and they turned in their workbooks for a workbook check. Students also received the Vocabulary list for chapter 11.

Tuesday, April 26:

Students were assessed on their key questions and rehearsed their dialogues with their groups. Tomorrow there will be a test over chapter 10.




Monday, April 25:

Students had a substitute teacher today & watched the 3rd part of "El Cid," and worked on a grammar worksheet in class. Tomorrow they will be quizzed on key questions & Wednesday is the chapter test. Friday will be dialogues.

Students took the grammar quiz, and we corrected it in class. Then they worked on their dialogues with their groups.



Wednesday, April 20:

Students worked on dialogues for chapter 10 (7 lines per person, 5 words per sentence, in the past tense about chapter 10). They will be memorized & performed after the chapter test. Tarea: page 320 in the textbook.

Students took the quiz over Palabras 2, and we corrected it in class. We also finished working in the listening manual. Tarea: Assessment.

Monday, April 18:

Students were given the website information for Destinos, which includes the online episodes: www.learner.org/series/destinos. They may use it for extra practice. Also they were told to use the survey link (above) to take a survey about the class this year, and it will be worth 15 extra credit points. During class we watched the video, ¿Qué va a hacer Raúl? We also completed the culture articles, reading "Conexiones," and they were given the Chapter 11 Repaso & Crossword to use to review the chapter & study for the chapter 11 test next week. Tarea: pages 127-128.

Friday, April 8:

Students did the bellwork on page 318, #20, and we also corrected the workbook homework. We read the next two culture articles (pages 324-325), and we worked in the listening manual. Tarea: pages 125-126.




Thursday, April 7:

Students took the quiz over Palabras 1, and we corrected it in class. We also corrected the homework in the workbook, and we read the first Lectura Cultural (pages 322-323). Tarea: 123-124.



Wednesday, April 6:

Students watched Episode 22 of Destinos and completed the grammar worksheet packets from the previous week (pages 60,61, 84, 85). Tarea: pages 121-122.

Tuesday, April 5:

Students did the bellwork(page 308, #2) and we checked their homework. Then we continued in Palabras 2 and the listening manual. They also received their key questions for chapter 10. Tarea: pages 119-120

Students were returned their corrected tests from Friday to review. Anyone wishing to look extensively at the questions & answers can come to lunch & look at both. They also received the rough drafts of their essays, in order to type the final copy. We also began chapter 10, Palabras 1 & 2, and grammar, taking notes in their notebooks. Tarea: pages 117-118 in the workbook.

Thursday, March 31:

Students wrote the essays for chapter 9, based on page 299, #4 (7 sentences of 5 words each). They also did the key quetions in class. Tarea: page 290. Chapter 9 test tomorrow! and workbook & notebook check.



Wednesday, March 30:

Students watched Destinos, Episode 21, and then they worked on the grammar worksheets in class. Tarea: Assessment.

Students completed their Key Questions for chapter 8, and we corrected the tests for chapter 8. Dialogues are due on Friday.

Students worked on a grammar worksheet in class together & then we played some review, Pictionary, drawing pictures of vocabulary words for other team members to guess. Tarea: Study for the test tomorrow.

They will be performed in class or presented by video to the class on Friday, 3/18/11. They should be 6 lines per person, with 5 words or more per line. They were assigned groups by the teacher. Tarea: pages 97-98.

Friday, Feb. 25:
Students began chapter 8, including vocabulary and grammar, and taking notes on the material. They also received their essay rough drafts which had been corrected, and they will be typing them and turning them in next Friday. We also began to discuss the historical figure of Rodrigo Diaz, in Spain, known as "El Cid," and students took some notes about him. We will be learning about his story this semester (as we learned about Don Quixote in first semester). Students will be assessed on El Cid in the future. Tarea: pages 87-88.
 
Thursday, Feb. 24:
Students corrected their chapter 7 tests from the previous day, and we were also individually assessed on their key questions for that chapter. They also worked on a crossword puzzle in class.
 
Wednesday, Feb. 23:
Students took the test for chapter 7, and turned in their workbooks and notebooks. Tomorrow they need to be ready to be assessed on their Key Questions.
 
Tuesday, Feb. 22:
Students watched Destinos, Ep. 17, and they worked on their essays for chapter 7 about their favorite sport, page 226, #1, 5 words per sentence, 8 sentences. The rough drafts were due at the end of the period. Tomorrow there will be a test over the chapter & students will turn in notebooks and workbooks.

Students watched Episode 15 of Destinos & we also worked on a grammar worksheet in class about using indirect object pronouns with verbs like gustar. Tarea: page 75-76.

Students did the bellwork in the chapter (page 208, # 4), & we corrected it in class. We also corrected the homework from the night before, and we continued to review the grammar for this chapter, pages 210-213 & 215. Then we read the Lecturas Culturales, pages 220-223. Tarea: pages 73-74.
 
Monday, Feb. 7, 2011:
Some of the students had late presentations to give (for first semester credit). We also began chapter 7, including Palabras 1 & 2. There will be a quiz over Palabras 1 on Friday. Tarea: workbook pages 71-72.
