We corrected the chapter 5 tests in class, and the students also responded to their key questions for chapter 5.    They were also allowed to work on their study guides while they were waiting their turn.    Turn in all your makeup work by Monday & Tuesday.
 
 
Thursday, Jan. 27:
 
Students took the chapter 5 test and turned in their workbooks.    Tomorrow we will be asking them to respond to their previously assigned key questions & work on their study guides.

Students watched Destinos, Episode 38, and we also worked on a literature review worksheet in class.   Tarea:  complete project for chapter 5.   Presentations will be made beginning next Monday.

Thursday, Jan. 13:
 
Students took the quiz over Palabras 2, and we corrected it in class.  They also were given their study guides for the semester one exam, which will be worth 100 points at the end of the semester.    We also read the culture articles at the end of the chapter, pages 148-153.

Students watched Episode 12 of Destinos after they did the bellwork,  page 178, #12 (write out the answers in complete sentences).   Then we worked on a grammar worksheet in class.

We began working in chapter 5, including Palabras 1 and 2 and the grammar.   We also worked in the listening manual.  Tarea:  pages 51-52 in the workbook.
 
 
Tuesday, Jan. 4:
 
Students gave their responses to the key questions for chapter 4, and they were also given their chapter 5 vocabulary lists.   We also began working on the project for the end of the semester, which they will present to the class, a timeline of their life's most important 5 events. 
 
 
 
Monday, Jan 3:
 
Students watched episode 36 of Destinos, and in the second half of the class, the students worked in their dialogue groups to finish their dialogues for chapter 4.   They must be typed and memorized for presentations on Monday, 1/10/11.

Friday, Dec. 17:
 
Students took the chapter 4 test.   They will be turning in their workbooks & notebooks for a grade after the Christmas Break.   Tuesday will be key questions.   Over vacation, they should be finishing their storyboards and catching up on any makeup work.

There was a substitute today in class, and the students worked on grammar review worksheets and were also able to work on their Don Quixote poster/storyboards.      Tomorrow:  Chapter 4 test.

Students began working on chapter 4, including Palabras 1 and taking notes about the grammar.     We also worked in the listening manual.   Tarea:  pages 33-34 in the workbook.
 
 
Wednesday, Dec. 1:
 
Students reviewed their corrected Chapter 3 test, and turned in their workbooks for a workbook check.   We also completed the Key Questions for chapter 3 in class.     The class also began working on a project for Don Quixote, working on a 6 picture storyboard about the story which we studied in class.
 
 
 
Tuesday, Nov. 30:
 
Students took the Chapter 3 test in the alternate classroom, since they were filming in B-104.    We'll just postpone the workbook check till tomorrow.     We will also be doing the Key Questions tomorrow.
 
 
Monday, Nov. 29:
 
They were filming in our classroom today, so we went to an alternate classroom Students watched Part 3 of  Don Quixote.   There will be a workbook check and chapter 3 test tomorrow.

Students watched the Buen Viaje video for chapter 3, and we did the worksheets together in class.  Then we played Loteria in class.    Tarea:  finish typing the essays.  Study for the chapter 3 test on Tuesday when we return.

Students took the grammar quizzes & we corrected them in class.   They used the class period to finish essays.    Tarea:   type & print essays with picture and staple it to the rough draft.     Don't forget to study for chapter 3 test when we come back from Thanksgiving.

Students watched Destinos, episode 33, and then they worked on finishing their essays in class.  They also completed a grammar worksheet about the imperfect tense.

Students took the chapter 1 test, and we also had a notebook and workbook check.     Tomorrow students will be assessed on the key questions, and they will be working on the essays for chapter 1 (page 25, #5).

Students took the grammar quiz, and we corrected it in class.   We also worked on the Chapter 1 Repaso de la cultura, in preparation for the test on Wednesday.   They will have a workbook and notebook check on Wednesday.

Students will receive the following study materials for use during the first week of school.  
We will discuss the use of an apellido (use of family last name followed by mother's last name) and students chose names to use in Spanish class.  We will also reviewed class rules and the syllabus, and use of the webpage for class purposes.    Tomorrow we will be working in Repaso A & we will have a quiz next Monday over the material.

**Students should plan to study at least 20 minutes each night for Spanish class, whether they have homework or not.   They can study grammar from the text or memorize vocabulary.

Tuesday, Jan 16, 2007:  Students took the Palabras 2 quiz, and we

            corrected it in class.  Students were then placed in groups for

            dialogues for chapter 6 and they received the handout with

            instructions for "El show de Cristina."  They will have the next

            week to finish the dialogues and memorize them for presentation

            before the end of the semester.  Tarea:  pages 69-70 in the

            workbooks.

Friday, Jan 12, 2007:  Students finished the culture readings in ch. 6,

              they began chapter 4 in the textbooks: Palabras 1 and 2, and the grammar.

              We also discussed the verb haber, and its irregular form of "hay."

Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006:   Students took the chapter 3 test today.  They also

            turned in their work for chapter 3 and their extra credit.

          Calentamiento:  page 72, #20 (write out the questions and answers).

          Begin chapter 3 project/essay:  pages 85, #5.  10 sentences.  Rough

          draft due today about when they were a child.  Students will be typing

          these, including an illustration on the final copy, and stapling it to the

           rough draft to turn in.

         quizzes from the day before to learn their scores.   They also worked

        on a Culture review worksheet, and we finished corrected chapter 3

Friday, Oct. 13, 2006:  Students did the bellwork/calentamiento, p. 34, #1, and

        p. 35, #4.  Students must write out the whole question and full-sentence

        and watched episode 4.

Friday, Sept. 15, 2006:  We reveiwed Repasos C & D, including stem-changing verbs like

           perder, jugar, empezar, poder, tener, volver, querer.  They were assigned tarea/

           homework pages R17-20 in their workbooks. 

       **Bellwork: Answer the following questions in complete sentences in Spanish:

 

        **Quizzes next week:  Monday, Repaso C; Wednesday, Repaso D; Friday, Repaso E.

   

 

Thursday, Sept.  14, 2006:  Students were given their quizzes back to review their grades.

        We also corrected the homework from last night and they were assigned their homework

        for tomorrow (Tarea:  R13-16).    Class discussed Repaso C and ER & IR verbs, including   

        the verb tener. 

   

        **Bellwork:  1)  Write five things you can eat.  2)  Write three things you can drink. 

        3)  Write the names of three meals.

 

        **Quizzes next week:  Monday, Repaso C.  Wednesday, Repaso, D. Friday, Repaso E.

 

 

Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006:  Students took the Repaso B Quiz.  Tarea:  pages R11-12.

        After the quiz, students watched "Destinos."  If students miss an episode of Destinos

        they will be required to view the video in a make-up viewing during lunch, to be

        arranged with Sra. Delello.  There will be assessments and other work to do with

        Destinos.  Students can expect there to be questions on quizzes regarding Destinos.

 

     ** Bellwork:  Complete the following sentences in Spanish:

        1)  El hermano de mi padre es mi _________.  2) La hija de mis tíos es mi _________.

        3)  Yo soy _________ de los padres de mis padres.  4)  Los padres de mis padres son

        mis ________.

 

 

Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006:  We corrected homework pages in the workbooks & reviewed

         Repaso B, the verb ser, and AR verb conjugation.  Tarea:  pages R9-10, workbook.

     ** Bellwork:  Make the following sentences plural.  1)  Él es americano.  2)  La muchacha

        es bonita.  3)  El colegio es moderno.  4)  El curso es fácil.

    ** Quiz tomorrow, Repaso B.

 

 

Monday, Sept. 11, 2006:  Students corrected pages R3-R6 in the workbook and reviewed

        Repaso A.  Students took a quiz over Repaso A.   We discussed verb conjugation and

        the verb ser.  Tarea:  pages R7 & 8 in the workbook.

 

        Bellwork:  1.  ¿Quién eres?    2.  ¿De dónde eres?      3.  ¿De qué nacionalidad eres?

 

        Wednesday:  Prueba over Repaso B

 

Friday, Sept. 8, 2006:  Bellwork assignment:  page R3, #3 & page R5 #4. 

         After we corrected the bellwork and finished discussing Repaso A, we corrected the

        workbook pages R1-3.  We will finish correcting the Repaso A workbook pages (R4-6)

        on Monday. 

 

        **There will be a Prueba (quiz) over Repaso A on Monday.

 

        We will begin Repaso B on Monday, and there will be a quiz on Wednesday.  These repaso

        sections are review from last year, and should be pretty easy for the students.

 

Thursday, September 7, 2006:  Class reviewed "ar" verbs from Spanish I and conjugation rules.

        We reviewed pages Repaso A, pages R2 - R7 in the textbook.  Tarea (homework) for

        tomorrow is workbook pages R1-R6.  There will be a Prueba (quiz) on Monday over

        Repaso A.  (Classes were shortened today for an assembly.)

       

        **Students should have workbooks purchased from the library and textbooks.

 

Wednesday, September 6:   We discussed the use of an apellido (use of family last name followed

        by mother's last name) and students chose names to use in Spanish class.  We also reviewed

        class rules and the syllabus.  Tomorrow we will be working in Repaso A & we will have a quiz

        next Monday over the material.

 

        **Students should plan to study at least 20 minutes each night for Spanish class, whether they

            have homework or not.   They can study grammar from the text or memorize vocabulary.

 

        **Textbooks must be covered by next Monday.  Forms must be signed and returned to class by

            by Monday.
