Students took the grammar quiz, and we corrected it in class. They also completed their rough drafts of their essays. Tarea: Assessment



Wednesday, June 15:

Students corrected the workbooks, continued the listening manual, and wrote the chapter 12 essays (page 385, #5. 10 sentences, w/ 5 in subjunctive mood). Tarea: pages 151-152.



Tuesday, June 14:

Students took the quiz over Palabras 2 and we also worked on the chapter 12 Repaso in class. Tarea: pages 149-150.

Monday, June 13:

Thursday, June 9:

Students worked the bellwork, page 363, #7, and we also worked in the listening manual. Tarea: pages 143-144. There will be a quiz tomorrow.



Wednesday, June 8:

Students watched Destinos, ep. 52 (the last episode) and we took notes about the subjunctive mood in Spanish from chapter 12. Tarea: pages 141-142. There will be a quiz on Friday over Palabras 1.



Tuesday, June 7:

Students corrected the tests from the previous day, and they were assessed on the key questions. Tarea: first 2 pages in chapter 12 workbook.




Monday, June 6:

Students took the chapter 11 test with the substitute teacher. Tomorrow: key questions.



Friday, June 3:

Students completed the grammar worksheets in class, and we also reviewed for the test on Monday. They also received their final exam study guides for second semester, which will be worth 100 points. Tarea: study for test on Monday!

Students took the grammar quiz, & we corrected it in class. We also began working on a grammar worksheet, which we will finish tomorrow.

Students took the Palabras 1 quiz, and we corrected it in class. We also continued viewing the cooking show video presentations, and we corrected the workbooks. Tarea: pages 129-130.

Students gave their "La Cocina Hispana" presentations. Tarea: pages 127-128 in the workbook.



Friday, May 20:

Students continued working in chapter 11, and they will be having the Palabras 1 Quiz next Tuesday. Tarea: pages 127-128.




Wednesday & Thursday, May 18 & 19:

Students watched the rest of "El Cid" in class, and they had a sub. Tarea: pages 125-126.




Monday & Tuesday, May 16 & 17:

Students had STAR testing and attended a half schedule of classes each day. During 3rd period we began chapter 11 and watched the next 25 minutes of "El Cid." Students should bring their completed cooking program dvd's to class next Monday. Tarea: pages 123-124.




Friday, May 13:

Students corrected the tests from the previous day, and they were also assessed on the key questions for the chapter. Next week, we will be having STAR testing.



Thursday, May 12:

Students took the chapter 10 test, and they turned in their workbooks and notebooks.
Tomorrow: Key Questions.



Wednesday, May 11:

Students did the bellwork on page 306, #A, and we also worked on the grammar worksheet over the Subjunctive Mood. Finally, we completed the listening manual in class. Tarea: page 306 in the textbook.

Students watched the "La Telecocina de Diana" video and discussed the videos that they are supposed to be making and the recipes they are using for the cooking show. We also worked together on the Chapter 10 Repaso & crossword. Tarea: Assessment.

Students worked in groups to organize their chapter 10 projects & choose a tapas recipe. We also corrected the workbook, and continued working on Palabras 2. Tarea: 111-112.


Thursday, April 28:

We began working in chapter 10, including taking notes on grammar and reviewing Palabras 1. We also worked on a grammar worksheet. They will be working on chapter 10 cooking show projects that will be filmed. Tarea: 109-110.

Students took the grammar quiz, and we corrected it in class. We also discussed the project for next chapter & arranged groupings for doing the projects.




Wednesday, April 20:

Students worked on a grammar worksheet in class and then we wrote the chapter 9 essays, based on page 285, #15. They should be written in the conditional tense about chapter 9. Tarea: page 276 in the textbook. Tomorrow: Grammar Quiz

Students took the quiz over Palabras 2, and we corrected it in class. We also finished working in the listening manual. Tarea: Assessment.

Monday, April 18:

Students were given the website information for Destinos, which includes the online episodes: www.learner.org/series/destinos. They may use it for extra practice. Also they were told to use the survey link (above) to take a survey about the class this year, and it will be worth 15 extra credit points. During class we watched Destinos, Ep. 48, and we also completed the culture articles, reading "Conexiones," and they were given the Chapter 10 Repaso & Crossword to use to review the chapter & study for the chapter 10 test next week. Tarea: pages 107-108.

Students did the bellwork (page 271, #13) and we also corrected the homework in class. We also continued to work in Palabras 2, the listening manual, and we read the first Lectura Cultural (pages 278-279). The students answered the questions which followed it in their notebooks. Finally, they received their key questions for chapter 9. Tarea: pages 99-100.

Students were returned their corrected tests from Friday to review. Anyone wishing to look extensively at the questions & answers can come to lunch & look at both. They also received the rough drafts of their essays, in order to type the final copy. We also began chapter 9, Palabras 1 & 2, and grammar, taking notes in their notebooks. Tarea: pages 97-98 in the workbook.

Students began chapter 7, including vocabulary and grammar, and taking notes on the material. They also received their essay rough drafts which had been corrected, and they will be typing them and turning them in next Friday. We also began to discuss the historical figure of Rodrigo Diaz, in Spain, known as "El Cid," and students took some notes about him. We will be learning about his story this semester (as we learned about Don Quixote in first semester). Students will be assessed on El Cid in the future. Tarea: pages 73-74 in the workbook.
Thursday, Feb. 24:
Students corrected their chapter 6 tests from the previous day, and we were also individually assessed on their key questions for that chapter.

Wednesday, Feb. 23:
Students took the test for chapter 6, and turned in their workbooks and notebooks. Tomorrow they need to be ready to be assessed on their Key Questions.


Tuesday, Feb. 22:
Students watched Destinos, Ep. 42, and they worked on their essays for chapter 7 about their favorite sport, page 185, #5, 6 words per sentence, 10 sentences. The rough drafts were due at the end of the period. Tomorrow there will be a test over the chapter & students will turn in notebooks and workbooks.

            We also began chapter 13, Palabras 1.  Tarea:  pages 153-154

            in the workbooks. 

 

 

Thursday, May 17, 2007:  Students took the test for chapter 12. 

            After the test they worked on their essays for the chapter 12

            project (page 385, #5).  They will be due next Friday.

 

 

Wednesday, May 16, 2007:  Students continued to work in their

            subjunctive packet, which we finished in class.  Students also

            worked on a crossword puzzle for vocabulary review.     

            We began working on the essays for chapter 12, from

            page 385, #5, write a letter to a friend (12-15 sentences). 

            The letter has to be mostly using the subjunctive mood.

Thursday, May 3, 2007:  Students watched episode 24 of Destinos, and

            received a worksheet to complete about the series.  We also

            discussed the projects for chapter 11.  Tarea:  pages 139-140

Wednesday, May 2, 2007:  Students took the chapter 11 test and

            previewed their projects for chapter 11, a pamphlet about

            driving and cars (pick up instructions from the teacher).

            chapter 11 test tomorrow.  They received a Repaso worksheet.

            We also finished correcting the workbook pages and the

            listening exercises for chapter 11.

Thursday, April 26, 2007:  Students took the Palabras 2 quiz, and we

            corrected it in class.  We also checked the workbook pages

Wednesday, April 25, 2007;  Students watched more videotapes and

            prepared for an earthquake drill.  We participated in a school-

            wide drill and then exited to the football field.

Tuesday, April 24, 2007:  Students brought in their videotaped programs

            of "La cocina hispana" today to show to the rest of the class.  We

            also corrected the workbook homework pages.  Tarea:  pages

            129-130.  

 

 

Monday, April 23, 2007:  Students brought in their food for their cooking

            programs (chapter 10 projects), which they shared with the class.

            During the second half of the period, we went to the Language

            Lab for instruction on how to use the facility.  Tarea:  workbook

            pages 127-128.

Friday, April 20, 2007:  Students took the quiz for Palabras 1 and finished

            working on their worksheet of imperative verb forms.  They spent

            the final 30 minutes of class working in dialogue groups.

Thursday, April 19, 2007:  Students corrected their workbook pages for

            Palabras 1 and worked on Palabras 2 in the listening manuals.

            Next, they reviewed grammar for chapter 11:  use of commands

            in the tú form.   For more practice in class, they worked on page

            one of the command forms packet (from chapter 10).   Bellwork:

            Apply Eagle Expectation #9 to the La Cocina Hispana project.

            "Communicate effectively: Expressing ideas through oral, written,

            numeric, physical, and creative means."

            Tarea:  pages 123-124 in the workbook.

Wednesday, April 18, 2007:  Students corrected their tests from the day

            before, and we began chapter 11, Palabras 1.

            Imperative Commands.  We finished pages 149 & 151.   Then they

            took the grammar quiz for chapter 10.   Afterwards they worked

            in their groups for their Cocina Programs.

Wednesday, April 4, 2007:  Students watched episode 21 of Destinos 21,

            and worked on the Culture Review for chapter 10.

            and answers in Spanish.

Monday, April 2, 2007:  Students corrected their workbooks in class,

            and reviewed grammar for chapter 10.   Students were also

            given a packet of worksheets about the imperative commands.

Friday, March 30, 2007:  Students reviewed grammar from chapter 10,

            and corrected the workbook pages from the homework this

            week.  Bellwork/Calentamiento:  page 304, #20.  Write out the

            sentences.   Tarea:  pages 115-116 in the workbooks.  Finally,

            the students broke up into their groups to work on their

            projects for chapter 10.    Recipe choices are due by Monday.

 

 

 

Thursday, March 29, 2007:  Students took the quiz for Palabras 1, and

            they watched Episode 20 of Destinos.  Tarea:  pages 113-114.

   

 

 

Wednesday, March 28, 2007:  Student workbooks were checked (for

            chapter 9).   Students also received their Ch. 9 tests back in

            order to review.   We corrected the homework from the night

            before.  Students also received a progress report showing any

            missing assignments.  Bellwork/Calentamiento:  page 294, #2.

            Write out the sentence and fill the space with the correct answer.

            Tarea:  pages 111-112 in the workbooks.

            today. We reviewed Palabras 1 and 2 and we looked at the

Wednesday, March 14, 2007:  Students watched Destinos, episode 18, and

            finished presentations of dialogues.  Tarea:  pages 105-106.  Next, they

            Write the Eagle Expectations and evaluate them in 3-4 sentences in

            English:

            students were placed in pairs to work on their telephone conversation

            dialogue for chapter 8, based on page 247, #A.  Dialogues must be

            memorized and typed for their portfolios by Tuesday, Mar. 6.

            we read the Lecturas Culturales, pages 248-251.  Tarea:  answer
