Students write an essay based on chapter 10, page 329,

#5, writing about a local cultural event.   Write 8 sentences &

at least 6 words per sentence, talking about why your readers

should go.   Also review the homework in the workbook.

Students work on the ch. 10 Repaso and Crossword 
Puzzle, 

to review chapter 10.  They also review the homework.   

They can also use Quizlet, and Duolingo for extra practice.

Monday, March 30:

MRS. DELELLO'S VIDEO MESSAGE 3/30

Students watch the video by Mrs. Delello.  They also read the 

culture articles, pages 322-327 in the textbook.  We also review 

the homework in the workbook.   Tarea:  pages 121-122 in the 

workbook. 

Students also receive the Rubric for the Ch. 10 project , which 

is due Apr. 17.  They will be researching about a famous person or 

event.  They will then be making a electronic presentation about 

that person or event in Spanish. The presentation should be 1 min. 

long and students will work on the project after Spring Break.

Extra Credit Assignment:  For 10 points of extra credit, answer the 

question with information from chapter 10:   

What was the name of the play they mentioned in Palabras 2?  It was

written by Garcia Lorca, a famous writer who was killed by Franco

during the Spanish Civil War.  

One sentence in Spanish will be sufficient.

Wednesday, March 25:

You will be able to "talk" to Mrs. Delello on Fridays, at any 

requested time.   I will be posting Zoom videos on Mondays.   

The Zoom video will be helpful for understanding what we are 

working on.   They will also be prerecorded, so you can watch 

them whenever you wish.   Fridays will be live using Google 

Hangouts, so you can get questions answered.  

As always, you can email me, too!

For Spanish 1 students:  This is the final day of chapter 9.  Students will be

turning in their homework for points in the gradebook.  They will

be getting extra practice by watching Destinos Episode 7.

Students work on a the workbook, pages 115-116, and also 

reading the dialogue and answering the questions on page

274 in the textbook.  They also work on the final assignment 

for chapter 9, the Assessment at the end of the chapter.

Students can get extra practice using Duolingo and Quizlet.

Monday, March 23:

Students were scheduled to watch the last part of "El Cid."   We 

have the link from YouTube for you to watch.  We are on the final 

hour of El Cid.  Remember "El Cid" is the national hero of Spain, 

and a true story, and an epic poem in Spanish.

Friday, March 20:

Students complete the reading in chapter 9, pages 294-297, the 

culture articles.  They also finish working on the essays from the 

previous day.  Students should also review the homework in the 

workbook Answer Key.  Tarea: workbook homework is pages 113-114.  

This is the final day to send the Extra Credit Message for 10 points.



Thursday, March 19:

Students use the prompt on page 299 of chapter 9 to write a essay/postcard

about a vacation they took to a Argentina or Mexico.  The essay should  be

9 sentences of at least 7 words per sentence.   This should be in the past

tense & students should use the grammar and vocabulary from the chapter.

This will be turned in by the end of the chapter, March 25.  Another assignment

for today and tomorrow, is to send an message to me in Spanish, due March 20.   

Turn it in under the Powerschool activity called, "Extra Credit Message."  Everyone 

who sends me the message in the correct format will receive 10 points of extra credit.  

If Powerschool is not working be sure to send me the message in an email.


Wednesday, March 18:

Students continue reviewing chapter 9, pages 285-289.   They 

should also review the homework in the workbook, using the 

Answer Key on the Powerschool Page.  Please remember, we

will not be taking quizzes.   We will be turning in homework for

points at the end of each chapter.  We will take the chapter tests 

when we return from the break.   For extra practice, don't forget 

you can you Quizlet and also Duolingo.   Tarea:  The homework 

for tonight is pages 113 & 114.  

March 25: End of chapter 9 & turn in homework



Tuesday, March 17:

Students continue reading and reviewing in the chapter 9 of

the textbook, pages 280-284.   They should also review their

homework in the workbook.   Quizzes will not be taken, and 

test will be given when we return to school.   Homework is due

when we finish the chapter, March 25.   Tarea:  pages 111-112 

in the workbook.   Be sure to complete your homework in 

order to earn points for the gradebook.  Also, for extra practice 

in Spanish, Duolingo may be used.

Monday, March 16:

Students work in the textbook, pages 276-279, and they review the 

homework in the workbook from last Friday.  Answer key can be 

found in PowerSchool (under Textbook, Workbook & Answer Key 

Tab).   Homework will be turned in at the end of the chapter.   

There will be more reading and writing assignments since we are 

doing online learning.   Tests will be taken when we return to 

school.    Please email the teacher if you have any questions!

Students review the homework, and we read

Students review the homework and we also work

on grammar worksheets for extra grammar

Section Vocabulary.   We also review the 

homework and discuss the grammar from

Students will use their ipads to access my webpage

and download homework and study materials to 

Noteability.    They will discuss vocabulary and

grammar in the Preliminary Section and chapter 1.

Wednesday, August 28, 2019: 

Students will use their ipads to access 

PowerLearningApp-based online textbooks 

& other materials for Spanish 1 class.   They 

must bring their materials to class each 

day, and they must also be able to access my 

webpage.   Students should plan to study at 

least 20 minutes each evening for Spanish class, 

whether they have homework or not.   They can 

study grammar & vocabulary, and they can also 

use my QUIZLET account for more practice.   

PowerLearning will be updated each day, and the 

mrsdelello.com webpage will also reflect what is on 

PowerLearning.    Students should use the 

Spanish 1 files page to access these handouts:
